This report attempts to study the impact of Indoor Air Pollution from cooking on traditional cook stoves/open fire in a household on the respiratory health of the older adults aged 45 and above in the household. The study is based on the data set of The Longitudinal Ageing Study in India (LASI) Wave-1, 2017-18. The study finds that controlling for the relevant factors, there is no conclusive evidence to show that the cooking on traditional cook stoves/open fire which uses polluting solid fuels have any significant impact on respiratory health of the old members of the household. The last section of the paper highlights the limitations of this analysis.
